87 - TACKLE BOX HUMILITY
TACKLE BOX HUMILITY
9 ⅞ x 14 ½ inches
(Required tackle box for art students)
This fishing tackle box was a requirement for freshman art students. Wanting to look like a classy sorority girl,I was embarrassed to be seen carrying this green albatross across campus. It housed my treasured art supplies—brushes, paints, and art tools—all organizedperfectly. I still have it. I keep it as a reminder of humility.
Carrying the tackle box to class was a step toward letting go of caring what others thought, a step closer to understanding that, despite strange stares generated by the green box, I appreciated the valu able contents inside. Acceptance of my visual perfectionism was an integral part of letting go. Now, I like what I see inside, both the dark and the Light.
