(Andrew Wyeth—gifted world-renowned artist)
To create superior work, one must study superior work. With defining strokes, Andrew Wyeth simplistically composed his art by trusting his intuitive eye. Andrew’s talent and his subject matter influenced the paintings in Drawn Back to Light more than any other artist.
My interest in Andrew peaked when my dad died in 1985. Dad and Andrew shared many positive traits.
Both had an uncanny ability to see beyond one’s exterior. Both were nonjudgmental observers of the idiosyncrasies of mankind. Both related to the authenticity of rural living.
As an artist I learned that lines on a face often reveal the path of someone’s life. I frequently enhance wrinkles to show what I see. In this painting, Andrew’s facial structure and lines are remarkably similar to my late father’s. This painting helps keep Dad’s memory alive.
